Dr. Merriam Haffar is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Erb Institute at the University of Michigan. She received her PhD from Ryerson University in Toronto in Environmental Applied Science and Management. Her research focuses on the trade-offs that companies must confront in the practice of business sustainability, and on applying a systems-based perspective on the measurement of sustainability performance.
The main emphasis of her postdoctoral research at the Erb Institute is to develop and test decision-support tools that can help strategists and senior leaders measure and account for a social, environmental, and economic metrics in corporate decision-making. Merriam’s research is funded by the Ford Motor Co.
